ODRH’s Emergency Relief Initiatives Following the Herat Earthquake
In the aftermath of the devastating earthquake in the Zende Jan and Injil districts of Herat province, the Organization for the Development, Rehabilitation, and Health (ODRH) has become a vital source of support for Afghanistan’s most vulnerable populations. ODRH has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to humanitarian principles by mobilizing immediate relief efforts.
With generous contributions from partners and supporters, ODRH has provided crucial assistance to 1,000 families, benefiting around 2,900 men and 3,980 women, including 18 households led by persons with disabilities. The aid packages included essential items such as food, water, clothing, and blankets, necessary for survival in the aftermath of the earthquake.
This initiative was made possible through the support of dedicated donors, ensuring that our response aligns with the Food Security and Agriculture Cluster (FSAC) packages. Through these efforts, ODRH aims to alleviate immediate suffering while fostering resilience among affected communities.
As we address the urgent needs in Herat province, we remain committed to providing compassionate support and reinforcing our role as a trusted partner in humanitarian action, to rebuild lives and restore hope in challenging circumstances.
